Canterbury Art Competition – Runner-up In The Canterbury Whitefriars Art Competition

Canterbury Art Competition

As part of this year’s Whitefriars In Bloom festivities, they held an Canterbury Art Competition where they invited artists to submit artworks around the theme ‘Wellbeing’.

In association with art supplies shop Cowling & Wilcox, artists had to submit their artwork by 1st July 2016.

I’m fortunate to be a runner-up. A photo of my painting, along with the other winners are currently on display at Whitefriars in Canterbury until the end of August.

Original Contemporary Lake District Windermere Landscape Painting

By Artist Diane Griffiths

This is a sweeping view of Windermere in The Lake District. The mountains recede into the distance, reflecting the luminous colours of the sky as the sun sets. This painting explores the natural beauty of the lake district, looking down onto Windermere; almost worshipping it from afar. The bolt of yellow and orange shows how quickly the light and the colours can change on and around these fells, with light and clouds passing over in an instant; providing an ever changing Cumbrian scene.
