Cornwall Living Magazine - 'In the Spotlight'
Share
It's brilliant to have a couple of features in the February issue 157 of Cornwall Living. As well as making another small appearance on the front cover I have a wonderful ‘Art in focus’ feature thanks to Colour & Space for a lovely page highlighting one of my Perranporth night paintings - “her work reflects the beauty of her surroundings whilst adding a touch of flare through colour and texture”.
I also feature my ‘Driving Home’ painting on the ‘Introducing’ page. I wouldn’t want people to forget! ;-)
It’s great to see my work in magazines, and something I used to only dream of. Even only 5 years ago I would have thought it impossible. I love that it’s becoming a reality, it feels like a brilliant achievement.
Testament to my hard work and perseverance but also the support you have given me. Thank you! I share on my website and social media to advertise my work, give you an insight into my world, but also to show my appreciation - it’s a two-way street and I’m very aware of that! Thank you!
‘Driving Home’ won The People's Choice Award 2024, The British Art Prize, Artists & Illustrators magazine. Initially it reached the top 50 finalists and people were asked to vote for their favourite painting. This award allows the public to make their voices heard by voting for their favourite work from the competition’s impressive shortlist.
The painting is of the Texaco garage, just off the Gannel in Newquay, Happily the final home of ‘Driving Home’ was purchased owner of the Texaco garage business. A fitting end to this story as the painting will come full circle back home to Newquay.
