In the land of mists and megaliths, traditions and superstitions; Bedruthan Steps sits high on the list of Cornish drama, beauty and myth. When Newquay became a popular tourist resort in Victorian times people were able to more easily visit this part of the coastline. The legend has it (probably also made up by the Victorians) that a giant built and used the stacks as stepping stones. In his painting we’re looking over the sea thrift across the coastline, as the waves roll to the shore and the moon rises in the sky, flooding the cliffs with a beautiful ethereal quality of light.

Postcards are a simple cheap way to collect your favourite art. I used to love collecting postcards when I visited galleries of my favourite artists; racking up my collection of Van Gogh, Monet, Corot, Pissarro, Degas and many more.

I also always used to collect postcards when I went on holiday, collecting tokens of all the places I've visited. Often picking an arial view, they were less prolific back then before drones, and I enjoyed seeing a different view of the place I was visiting.

I've enjoyed putting together these postcards which are a mix of the two. A token of holiday memories as well as reproduction of some of my favourite paintings.
