Anonymous Art Auction for Cornish Primary School
I received an email from a lovely lady called Carly-Ann Clark earlier this year. She is the Foundation Subject Lead, and Art and Design teacher at St Day and Carharrack Primary School in Redruth. This year she has set herself the challenge of improving the standard of art and DT teaching and learning and is raising money for resources for our art department (my favourite department at school)!
This year the school is hosting an anonymous art auction - "You may have seen us on the news recently or heard us on the radio. The following link is an article written about our efforts."

"All artworks are the size of a postcard - 6x4" and signed on the back- and will be displayed anonymously. We will display the children and staff's artwork alongside amateur and professional artworks, bidders must bid on the artwork without knowing who made them until after they have won the auction."
I have to admit, I was hooked, just off the back of my campaign to get votes to win 'The People's Choice Award' for my painting 'Driving Home' - I could relate to this venture.
The exhibition and auction took place on Thursday 27th February from 5:30-6:30pm at the school.
The school raised over £1,500 and I was really pleased to discover that my postcard was the highest selling item at £65! That's amazing! Check out the write-up in the Truro Voice.
