Cornish art by British contemporary artist Diane Griffiths. It’s hard to do justice to the poppy fields on West Pentire when they come into wild and full bloom in June every year. It’s an undeniable explosion of red, perfectly framed by a combination of fields and sea. In this contemporary painting we’re looking back across to East Pentire and Crantock Beach, the tide is in and you can just about glimpse the estuary as the sea turns into The Gannel in the centre of the painting. The red radiates across the landscape as it does on this canvas.
